Cherry Blossom Breeze: OC Remake

A while back, I decided to redraw my site’s banner character, Sakura the Cherry Blossom Kitsune, and here’s what I came up with.

LEFT: “NEW” Cherry Blossom Breeze       RIGHT: “OLD” Sakura in Spring

The newer version has more details and new designs in the dress and fan. The colors are lighter in the newer one for a springlike like look. I really wanted this new version to look similar to her previous version, but with my current art style. Honestly, I love both designs. Which one do you like best? Sakura the Kitsune’s Backstory: Cherry Blossom Breeze

A beautiful Kitsune named Sakura, dancing about a field of Cherry Blossoms. She’s a friendly spirit that tends to forests of her homeland. The Cherry Blossom forests provide harmony to her homeland, giving its travelers a place of peace and calm. One of Sakura’s duties is to keep the forest purified to preserve its harmony. Her dance cleanses the wilds, protecting them from a dark infestation; a disease of malice and hatred. If this is left unchecked or purified, this disease will consume everything, leaving nothing but death and decay. Luckily, Sakura has had many years of practice warding off this evil, and she always has her sisters nearby to help as well. Travelers of the realm say that meeting this Kitsune is a sign of good fortune, for she blesses your journey. To receive her blessing, all one must do is bow in respect and offer a token of tribute. Nothing flashy like gold or trinkets. Food or Flowers work best with her. If she presents a cherry blossom, this is her token of her blessing; a good luck charm. Winter at the Cafe

An Artic Fox Girl enjoying a hot cup of coffee at her favorite cafe.

This was a fun sketch to make. Originally, the idea was going to be draw a scene of snow in the park, but I was growing tired of the cold weather. I decided to draw a coffee shop/cafe scene with a warm and cozy vibe.

For this sketch, I focused on creating a relaxing scene with the character sitting with her cup of coffee. To stick to a winter theme, I decided to have snow falling outside the window, and based the character’s design off an Artic Fox.

Overall, I really love how this sketch turned out.

FanArt: Mizutsune the Water Fox

An adorable Anthro version of the water fox, Mizutsune (Monster Hunter), in an elegant dress. This Leviathan is best known for the fact that it breathes bubbles as a defense mechanism. It also happens to be one of my favorite monsters due to its design and colors, and the fact that it’s one of the few monsters considered normally passive unless provoked.

For this drawing, I focused on making this character look a little more human than creature (kinda like prosthetic makeup or costume). Mainly, I tried to make her face look semi normal by compressing some of the Mizutsune’s features (mainly the snout). I also tried to make her hair resemble quill like fur.

Overall, I think it turned out pretty good. Might have to come back and color this later.

Just a fun sketch I drew during some downtime. I call this, “VICTORY!” I based this off of Final Fantasy and other RPG victory poses.

Not sure if this character is a victor of some random battle or just won some competition. Anyways, I really like how this one turned out.

Amelia in the movie is a feline like alien with a strict, no nonsense personality. I really love her sci fi, old fashion sea captain outfit. I tried to make a costume similar to hers, while a adding a few changes for some more flair. Overall, I think my sketch turned out pretty good.

This Fox is cosplaying as the coolest piolet in the Lylat System, Fox McCloud (Star Fox by Nintendo).

I based the costume off of the Star Fox Adventure game. I personally like that version better. I got nothing against the newer versions. It’s just the adventure version looks more fox like and cooler to me.

Anyways, the cosplay costume isn’t exactly like Fox’s. I changed a few things to make it more feminine for this fox girl. Overall, I think this sketch turned out pretty cool.

The original Lulu usually carries a Moogle, a winged teddy creature with a pom pom antenna. For my sketch, I turned her Moogle into a Fox Sprite to fit the whole fox theme.
